Estimating data before a trip is guesswork. Traditional plans make you commit to a size upfront; soda settles on actual usage. Drag to compare.

7.0 GB
Traditional plan: commit to a size upfront $30
soda: usage-based, lowest price applied $10

Usage caps automatically at a plan price; crossing borders switches to regional pricing. The settled amount never exceeds any plan combination you could buy yourself.

Transparent billing

Every trip ends with a full statement: what you used and which plan price applied, line by line. soda does not profit from estimation errors.

Balance never expires

Your top-up stays yours and is drawn down by usage. Unused top-ups are refundable to the original card within the cooling-off period.

Quality first

soda runs on local carriers’ standard lines, with connection stability as the baseline — not discounted capacity with degraded quality.

Spending caps, your call

Set a cap: get notified at 80%, auto-pause at the limit, adjust any time in one tap. No surprises on the bill.

Frequently asked questions

How does soda price my usage?

soda uses a prepaid wallet and bills by actual usage. Your usage accrues at a per-unit rate and automatically caps once it reaches a plan price; crossing borders auto-falls to a cheaper regional plan, so you never pay more than any combination of plans you could buy yourself. No monthly fee, no contract.

Do I need to choose a plan or country first?

No. Install soda and start using it. Afterwards we automatically apply the most economical pricing for your actual usage, so you never have to estimate your data in advance.

Does my balance expire? Can I get a refund?

Your balance never expires and carries over to your next trip. Top-ups you have not used can be refunded to your original card within the cooling-off period.

How do I know I am not being overcharged?

At the end of every trip we itemise exactly what you used and which plan price we billed. The numbers are fully transparent, and soda never profits from a customer’s miscalculation.

Can I set a spending limit?

Yes. Set your own spend cap, get an alert at 80%, auto-pause at the limit, and raise it in one tap whenever you need, so your budget stays fully in your control.

When do I pay? Is this postpaid?

You only pay when you top up. Charges during your trip are drawn from your wallet balance as they settle — no extra card payments. soda is prepaid: there are no after-the-fact bills, and your balance never goes negative.

Which countries are covered? Can one eSIM cross borders?

First markets: Japan, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and China. One soda eSIM works across all of them — land, connect, no swapping — and all usage settles in the same wallet. The live list is shown before purchase.

How do I know my phone supports eSIM?

soda runs a compatibility check before payment: it detects your OS and walks you through dialling *#06# to look for an EID (about 15 seconds). Mainland-China iPhones and many Hong Kong models don’t support eSIM — the check warns you clearly.

What if I switch phones? Do I have to buy again?

No. Sign in on the new phone, choose “Replace device”, and the system voids the old eSIM and reissues a new one for free. Your balance lives on your account, not the card — it’s unaffected. About two minutes.

What is the network quality like?

soda runs on local carriers’ standard lines, with reliability as the baseline. A smooth connection abroad is what we prioritise.

Do I need identity verification (KYC)?

No passport or ID upload. Carrier-side registration is handled by the telecom layer and cardholder verification by the payment provider — soda itself never holds your identity documents.
